About us
The Art of Wood prides itself on providing a unique service, tailoring fitted and freestanding furniture to your bespoke specifications.
With more than a decade of experience working for the country’s leading furniture makers we design, make and fit top quality products at the highest end of the market.
Excellent customer service, flexibility and attention to detail are paramount to the company, and reflected in our wide variety of clients and repeat business.
Prior to founding The Art of Wood, qualified cabinet maker Mark Dayman worked in the trade for 14 years making furniture for Mark Wilkinson (Wiltshire), Matthew Collins (Oxfordshire), Woodworks (Sheffield), Against the Grain (Sheffield) and Bronte (Northampton). His most notable employment was working for Jonathan Rose (Wiltshire) making bespoke furniture for Lord Linley and Silverlining.
Mark Dayman is also closely involved with African charity FREED UK and travels to Ghana each year to carry out humanitarian work using his carpentry skills (see Press page for details).
"The company's attention to detail and exquisite craftsmanship ensured
that their deceptively simple design matched our requirements exactly
and the solid oak extending dining table and sideboard created by them
is praised by all our visitors."
Professor David Canter, Ruthin, North Wales
